This winter, I was selected by the Department of General Services in Washington DC to design a 7’ x 6.5’ wall sculpture to be placed in Randle Highlands Elementary School. It’s almost done! “Riverbed” is made out of wooden river stones with mirror inlay. I liked the idea of using wood to connect viewers to nature, and also to provide a tactile interest. I implemented mirror to provide movement, water-like reflection, and to bring the viewer further into the piece, thus into nature. Here are additional photos and video footage.
