Original Art Inspired by Nature

Kristen Pobatschnig is an artist who utilizes whirlwinds of fleeting dots and forms to create paintings inspired by the natural world. As indicated in her paintings, she is fascinated by movement. She paints primarily in acrylic, in what is considered a kinetic-pointillist style; utilizing dots to convey movement.

“Grounded in Nature” represents both an earthly connection as well as a free-flowing, cosmic elation, when immersed in the great outdoors. Dots are arranged to capture movement, and utilized to represent stars, particles, and atoms, all of which are in constant motion.

“Hummingbird in Flight VI” Rhythmic dots depict the staccato of vibrational sound and the whir of fleeting movements. Pools of color are pulled in from the outer edges; the surroundings appear to blend and integrate with the bird. This is part of a series of hummingbirds in flight. 40”x40” 2022

“Hummingbird in Flight VII” 40”x40” Acrylic on Canvas 2022

“Running Start” (loon painting) 40”x40” Acrylic on Canvas 2022

“Bees in the Lavender” 40”x40” Acrylic on Canvas 2022

“Starry Ascent” Colors of the night sky are especially vivid after ascending a mountaintop. The night sky makes a peaceful yet exciting atmosphere while in nature. This nighttime landscape has lots of subtle movement with the dots to create a kinetic pointillism. 40”x16” Acrylic on canvas 2023

“Midnight Stroll” The Milky Way greets you as you wind your way upward on a walking ascent. The activity in the sky commingles with the earthly landscape. Acrylic on Canvas, 16”x40”

Art Installations

“Endless Flow” is a 10’ stone patio created with a mixture of aggregate with ocean and river pebble stones. For me this was an introduction to stone work, exploring all things water: a wave, swirling eddies, ripples, and raindrops.

Recently completed: “Cosmic Serenity” is a 9’x18’ triptych, commissioned for a non-profit medical research center in Wisconsin. Acrylic on Linen.

Rendered photo of completed installation.
