Painting water as a reflection of the cosmos has been a favorite theme for me. Cosmic Swim is an abstract series inspired by the powerful surging waters in springtime. This series also serves as a visual representation of the healing eff ects of Nature. Normal ion counts in fresh country air is 2,000-4,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter. At a large water fall you might find over 100,000 negative ions. Negative ions have many healing effects on our bodies, hence the therapeutic associations with visiting an ocean or other body of water. I find Abstract work and Nature go very well together, and I enjoy exhibiting my work physically in Nature for a unique viewing experience. This series has a much cooler palette, and these paintings are guided by fluidity of acrylic inks that give a watercolor-like feel.
